Online Marketing - Let People Know...

Why would we talk about online marketing here? Because if people don't know about us, we don't generate profits. And with no profits, there are no funds to donate to breast cancer research!

We've been contacted by many people who raise funds for various causes. One of the top questions we're asked is "how did you learn how to MARKET your site?". People know that without traffic, no one will be able to find them.

This was a challenge for us as well when we first decided to use online marketing as a way to market this site. We'd already spent over SIX YEARS reading thru information, attending technical conferences, listening to gurus, etc. And after all the time spent looking, we simply ended up frustrated. It's incredible what it takes to put together a site that works and attracts visitors! And it takes skills that we really didn't WANT to learn. We wanted to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research...not become website designers!

Then we found several ways to simplify the process of both website building AND online marketing! What we offer below are the tools that we most recommend.

This is what we used to build the very site you're viewing! Don't get me wrong, SBI! isn't the only website building software available for use in online marketing. There are tools all over the internet to show you how to build a site, how to design background pages, how to set up links, how to set up an online store, how to place ads on your pages, etc.

We chose SBI! because it's the only tool we've found that pulls it all together...WITHOUT our having to know how ANY of that technical stuff works! And, most importantly, they offer step-by-step tutorials of how to design a website that brings in traffic and visitors...and THAT'S what matters most!

This online marketing tool is a tremendous time-saver for us. In order to be successful, you've gotta let people know where to find you.

Sure, we could tell our friends...but REALLY, how many friends does one person have? When it comes to online marketing, it takes hundreds if you'd like to get linked to quickly. So, we began looking for something that might assist us in getting the word out faster.

On Demand Profits is just plain "stupid simple". We've spent thousands of dollars using pay-per-click, posting flyers, paying to have door hangars put out, and placing newspaper ads.

For cost effectiveness and simplicity that ANYONE can use, this was one of the easiest to understand. We spent less than $10 to get it, and what it's taught us is priceless!

Once we began using the software, we realized that forums weren't the only way to get the word out either. We learned while we were reading thru forum posts, that we should also be posting information and comments on various blogs, especially those related to our cause.

The challenge became that we were spending hours searching for legitimate blogs that contained good content. And once we found them, we had no way of knowing whether they were any higher in the search engines than our own site. We had to find a way to locate the higher-quality blogs faster.

We started searching thru the tons of online marketing information again, this time in search of a tool to locate high-ranking blogs. We weren't even sure that something like that even existed, but here it is.

Blog Comment Demon allows us to enter a keyword phrase (for example, breast cancer support), and then search thru any number of blogging systems (Blogger, Wordpress, etc.), and it brings back a list of blogs that are related to the keyword phrase we entered. More importantly, it provides what's called a Page Rank. The page rank lets us know where that particular blog falls on a search engine. The higher the page rank, the more visitors the blog has.

So what good does that do us? It gives us the ability to pull up hundreds of blogs at one time, choose only the ones with a higher page rank, and then click and review them quickly to find the ones that we want to post a comment with. And when it comes to online marketing, the faster you can locate what you're looking for online, the more time you'll have to do other things...like breast cancer walks!

You must find a way to market your cause (or your product for that matter) or no one will know that you exist. There are tons of ways to do that. One of the most popular online marketing methods is what's called pay-per-click, but you've gotta make sure you understand and know what you're doing before you start. We have friends who have lost so much money using pay-per-click that they had to close their business, just because they couldn't keep up with marketing costs. They just didn't have the knowledge to succeed with it.

There are other ways to market online, many of which we will be adding to this page so be sure to check back. We realize that all of this may sound a bit confusing, especially if you're new to online marketing, so here's what we suggest.

Go thru each of the tools we use and recommend above. We've set up a page explaining them in more detail. Each page also contains a link to the actual product so you can check them out in even more detail.

The bottom line is you have to decide what tools will work for what it is that YOU'RE looking to accomplish. Online marketing is simple...IF you keep it simple and learn the basics first!
